Are children allowed?

3

es, many children thoroughly enjoy our tours, especially those who are curious and eager to learn about history. If you think your child will enjoy tour learning about the history of New York City, they’re absolutely welcome to join.

That said, children under 15 may sometimes find it harder to stay interested during a longer, group-based activity. Additionally they may be easily tired by the walking.

For ticketing:

Children 5 years and older require a paid ticket.

For children 4 years and younger, tickets are optional. If a ticket is not purchased, food tastings will not be included for them.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you’ll be bringing a young child so your guide can plan accordingly.

We offer discounted children tickets for tours including:

  • Chinatown Tour

  • Pizza Tour

What’s included?

4

Your ticket includes all food tastings, a knowledgeable and engaging tour guide, and access to our digital insider neighborhood guide. Gratuity is not included in the ticket price. In New York City, it is customary to tip tour guides between 18% and 25% of the tour cost. If you enjoyed your experience, tips are always appreciated by your guide.

The Food

How much food is provided?

1

There’s more than enough food to make a full meal—we’ve never had anyone leave hungry. The goal of this experience is to explore new flavors and discover different styles of cuisine. Even if something isn’t to your taste, there are plenty of other options to enjoy along the way.

Are there beverage served on the tour?

2

We recommend bringing a water bottle with you on the tour. While some stops may offer beverages, this isn’t guaranteed. During the Chinatown tour, there will be opportunities to purchase drinks, but it’s best to come prepared just in case. Having water on hand is also helpful for cleansing your palate between tastings.

Can you accommodate food allergies and other dietary restrictions?

3

Vegetarian substitutions are available on all our tours.

Nut-free tastings are available on all of our tours, and we’ve not had any issues in the past. However, please be aware that there is always a risk of cross-contamination, and traces of nuts may be present in the kitchens we visit.

Gluten-free options are currently not available.

Our food tour is designed to highlight the best and most unique aspects of each culture and each establishment. Unfortunately, there isn’t always the option for something else that’s similar.

Please contact us before purchasing tickets for any of our food tours if you are concerned about an allergy.

How much walking is involved?

1

This is a walking tour, and there is quite a bit of walking, more than most people typically do in a day. We usually cover about 1 to 2 miles at a relaxed pace, with plenty of stops along the way for tastings and stories. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and supportive walking shoes so you can fully enjoy the experience.

Are the tours wheelchair/stroller accessible?

2

Many of the stops on our tour are located in historic establishments that were not designed with modern accessibility in mind. As a result, you may encounter narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets, and stairs at some locations, which can make access more challenging for strollers and wheelchairs. While we absolutely welcome guests with strollers or mobility aids, it’s important to note that some tours are more accessible than others.

For strollers, we recommend bringing something lightweight and easy to fold, such as an umbrella stroller. Many of our indoor stops are small, and navigating or seating children in larger strollers can be difficult. A compact stroller gives you flexibility—making it easier to enter establishments and providing a convenient option if your child gets tired, helping ensure a smoother experience for both parent and child.

At this time, we unfortunately do not have a fully accessible route suitable for wheelchair users.

Are there bathroom stops?

3

Yes. Your tour guide will let you know when bathroom opportunities are available.

Does the same tour follow the same route every time?
